Julia McCarthy and Mya

Mya, a 2-year-old Rottweiler, rolls over, shakes, speaks, gives high fives, waves and plays dead. She is learning her ‘doggie salute’ and the Army crawl to salute her dad who is a medic in the Army National Guard and soon to be deployed.

Her mom’s goal is to dispel the myth about this breed. Despite her rather rough exterior, Mya has a heart of gold and the cutest face around. Julia's extensive training with Mya has led to the very important business of therapy work. Dressed in pink scrubs and matching collars, Mya causes heads to turn and smiles to appear. This dog’s therapy work will change minds about the breed and countless lives for the better.

It is Julia’s passion to work with the military. As she says, “These heroes go out of their way to serve and protect our country with little, and sometimes no, recognition and our goal is to be there with them whenever we are needed.”

It is our honor to welcome this team aboard and to be witness to their future achievements and successes.
